Hong Kong's Hang Seng stock index correlates with quite a lot of Euro$ money indications beginning with China's yuan. Also others you might not expect such as US$ IRS swap spreads (esp. 30s) and UST yield curve spreads like the 2s10s. Hang Seng is a connection between money and economy as it relates to much of Asia. China is a mess and the latest data from Japan is a true disaster, so no wonder Hang Seng having trouble hanging in.
