Toxic People, Toxic Jobs
The word toxic is a powerful and emotional one. And I believe it’s sometimes overused. After all, by the literal definition, people cannot technically be toxic and only specific jobs are. Yet we find this word used frequently and perhaps have used it ourselves. So as we consider the word toxic, I invite you to contemplate with me: Does this word serve me well? Considering that it’s a very dramatic word, I’ve found myself wondering: Is it more harmful than helpful? Let’s talk about it.“What toxic people and toxic jobs do is show us where we aren’t managing our mind… where we, perhaps, feel like we don’t have permission to change our minds… Drama’s always a sign that there’s work there for you to do.” – Dr. Sara DillWhat You’ll LearnLiteral definition of toxicRamping up the dramaWhy we use the word toxicEmbracing changeWorking on your personal responsibility
Contact Info and Recommended ResourcesPodcast Episodes that pair well with this one:When to Quit vs When to GritHow (and why) to Transform Any Crisis into a GiftBelieving New Things - rebroadcastThought Work: The Most Important Work You Can Ever Do
Connect with Sara Dill, MD, The Doctor’s CoachI’d love to work with you!
