Trust Marketing - How To Win In A World Full of Scammers
Trust Marketing - How To Win In A World Full of Scammers
Scott Wilson is back with a deep dive into Trust Marketing and how to position your business away from the scammers and the competitors who, let’s just say, like to cut corners.
Here’s what you will discover in this Marketing 4 Business Podcast episode.
Today's podcast is about trust marketing and nine practical things you can do right now so you can stand out from the crowd and position your business away from scammers and competitors who, let’s say, like to cut corners.
So, a bit of background on today's episode: I’ve had some interesting conversations with some potential clients recently, and it’s fair to say these prospective clients have had some competitors who like to push the boundaries and have made many customers distrust their industry.
And it is fair to say in most industries, we all have that rogue business that makes your industry look bad; you’re probably thinking of them right now.
The same is true in the Digital Marketing space as well,
After 25+ years in business, I know from experience that not all business people are created equal, and some have different values and morals.
As I always say to my son, watch what people do, not always what they say.
Actions speak louder than words.
Also, know from experience that the two biggest factors affecting your business marketing right now in 2023 are Getting Attention and Trust.
Attention, getting it, keeping it and maximising it is another podcast for another day.
Today is about Trust Marketing because we all like to do business with people we know, like and trust.
If you’ve listened to my podcast called “Selling on Social”, you’ll know I have a 4 step fame work for getting people to know you (character), like you (chemistry) trust you (demonstrate credibility), buy from you (invitation)
I’ll link to this episode in the show notes so you can listen to that information-packed Selling on Social episode.
In preparing for a Where You Can Win Strategy Session to help one of these potential clients deal with the distrust happening in their industry, I created a 9-point checklist and thought I’d share these 9 points with you.
Trust Marketing Checklist for Business Owners
1. Transparency
Brands that are open about their processes, values, and intentions are more likely to gain the trust of their customers. This includes being upfront about product ingredients, sourcing practices, pricing structures, and other important details.
- Clearly communicate your business values and principles.
- Disclose product or service details, including any potential shortcomings or limitations.
2. Consistency
Consistency: Delivering consistent experiences, messages, and product quality reassures customers and reinforces their trust in a brand. Consistency also helps in setting and managing customer expectations.
- Ensure brand messaging is consistent across all platforms.
- Deliver a consistent quality of products/services at every interaction.
