Woolly Mammoth

The giant mammoths lived in Tundra Steppe or Mammoth steppe which is spread across Northern parts of Europe and Asia, and North America from about 3 million years ago up until 10 thousand years ago. The vast majority of Woolly mammoths died out at the end of the last ice age, about 10-11,000 years ago. But a small population of mammoths got trapped on Wrangel Island, in Russia, and continued to live there till 4000 years back.
