This week we take a deep dive into the the role of the criminal justice system in some of today's biggest issues with Arizona State University professor, Dr. Hank Fradella. We talk about how the US prison system is one of the biggest providers of mental health services and why that is a major problem. Dr. Fradella tells us what can potentially be done to fix the issues and gives some examples from his time as a law clerk in the federal courts. We also talk about the change landscape for transgender rights in the United States and how new laws being enacted could pose issues for those in the trans community. This was a powerful conversation about some extremely hot button topics. Whether you agree or not I think Dr. Fradella will make you think!I always try to show both sides of an argument and did so in this interview playing "devil's advocate" to better understand. My questions as well as his answers are to show both sides.
