The 2023 football season began with a bang...of thunder...as lightning delays pushed the game late into the night before Cass City rolled to a 38-8 victory over Bad Axe. The Red Hawks began the game quickly with a 79-yard kickoff return before punching it in two plays later to take a 6-0 lead. Bad Axe would move the ball well and find the endzone once before the half was over, cutting the deficit to just 4 points, 12-8, but the Hatchet defense would allow a touchdown with just one second left in the half, making for a 18-8 Cass City lead at halftime. Cass City would add three more scores in the second half en route to beginning their campaign with a 1-0 start. The Red Hawks now travel to Harbor Beach in the final week before divisional play begins. Bad Axe will look to find their first win as they host the Reese Rockets on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
