#60 - Identifying PRRSV Outbreaks with Accuracy on sow farms - Mafalda Pedro Mil-Homens, M.Sc.
Sow farms collect large amounts of data every day, but that is not enough: real-time surveillance of such production data still has significant gaps. Thus, it is essential to integrate the data collected on the farm with the tools available to help swine production systems identify real-time productivity deviations in order to have accuracy in the detection of even the smallest of changes. That way, producers can make faster decisions by identifying disease outbreaks, like PRRSV, earlier. In this episode, Mafalda Mil-Homens, M.Sc., discusses the research she is developing in her doctorate, which is about building a disease surveillance system for PRRSV outbreaks in breeding herds by using production and feed data.
