8 | Teevee Aguirre | Becoming a Better Human, and a Better Father
On today's episode of the Powerful Parenting Journey Podcast, Stephanie talks to Teevee Aguirre.Teevee is many things. An artist, a writer, a dancer, but most of all, a father. Following his divorce in 2006, Teevee realized that he did not like the man he saw in the mirror. He believed he was a good man, with strong values and kind-heartedness, however, many of the beliefs he had been taught in his youth were wrong or needed to be updated. In 2009, Teevee quit after 18 years in grocery retail management and started his marketing company to be more involved and present in the parenting of his two daughters. Through his agency, he helps entrepreneurs grow their businesses by creating marketing campaigns that help make them rockstars in their industry. Teevee also believes that everything is related. Marketing is dating, leadership is parenting, improv is life, etc.During the show, Teevee discusses his entrepreneurial journey, from an 18-year career in grocery retail to eventually leaving to form his own marketing company and be more present with his children. He talks about his co-parenting situation with his ex-wife, in which he sees his daughters every other weekend. Now that his daughters are older, they largely manage the schedule. He describes how they made it work at the very beginning by intentionally trying to keep it as drama-free as possible.Teevee also reveals that his children have complete trust in him as a father, due mainly to the fact that he has developed such a close and nurturing relationship with them at a young age.Join Stephanie and Teevee for an insightful conversation about the power of being present for your kids.Enjoy! What You Will Learn In This Show:Teevee's entrepreneurial journey. The power of scarcity, and treating the time you have as the precious gift it is.Why getting his daughters involved in public speaking was the best decision he could have made. The power of having deeper conversations with children. How being left to his own devices as a boy led him to becoming a better father himself.<br/>And so much more...
