A desire to be known & a pivotal car accident: Mike's Story
When Mike entered his teenage years, he found himself “going through the motions”, putting more importance on pleasing others instead of pleasing the only One that mattered. His desperate longing to be known took him down the wrong paths, until a momentous event occurred: a car crash that changed everything. While Mike was saved from the car accident, was he truly saved in the eyes of God? When we think of church leaders, we often assume they’ve always had it all figured out. When you hear Mike’s story today, you’ll gain a valuable perspective on how a church upbringing doesn’t necessarily guarantee a relationship with God. As a young child, Mike could answer any question about God. But one crucial question always loomed in his mind, “Does God actually know me?”Today, I'm excited to share Pastor Mike's salvation story with you. Through Mike’s desire to be known, forming a relationship with God, and facing struggles later in life, Mike’s story is a powerful reminder of how one Man does know us, and how He can completely change our lives for the better. If you’d like to keep up with our guest, feel free to connect with Pastor Mike on his social media channels:Twitter: @preachamanmikeIG: @preachamanmikeEmail:mike@mincofbc.com
TIME STAMPS5:08 “I was a drug baby, because my parents always drug me to church.”13:02 “I wanted to be a people pleaser, I wanted to be around people. I wanted to matter, I wanted people to think I was somebody. So I would do kind of whatever to be somebody.” 22:04 “December 13th my sophomore year, I won’t forget that day…”29:15 “‘Lord I’m so sorry, I’m such an awful sinner. I’ve acted like I’m a Christinan and I’m not a christian. I know I’ve led people away from you and I’m so sorry’…this two-ton weight just lifted off my shoulders and flew away.”37:13 “‘God what do you want me to do?’ He said, ‘I need you to preach’”39:38 “My daughter Emma has gone through a lot of medical things. There’s been times where I’m like God, c’mon. I’ve given everything to you.”46:01 “If you don’t know if you’ll be saved then ask God. Eternity is forever and ever and ever. We think this life is what matters, but it’s not.”
