A Live Conversation with Taun Hall About the Fight for Justice for Her Son Miles Hall
On July 18th, Taun Hall joined Life After the Impact to discuss her fight for systemic change on behalf of her son Miles Hall. While he was in the midst of a mental health emergency, Miles was killed by Walnut Creek police on June 2, 2019. In his honor, the Miles Hall Foundation was established, with one aim being to “prevent criminalization and excessive use of force by law enforcement during mental health emergencies.” The Foundation has also been instrumental in passing legislation such as AB 988, which provides call and text services for people in crisis to connect with suicide prevention and mental health crisis counselors instead of law enforcement. Catch this episode to learn how you can personally take action in fighting for justice for Miles Hall and for all lives stolen by law enforcement. Mental illness is not a crime.
