ABOVE THE MOON [EPISODE 152]
I had the pleasure of speaking with the NJ alt-rock band – Above The Moon – recently! It happened to be on the night Asbury Park had a torrential rainstorm that closed roads and wreaked havoc on all drivers at that time! Despite that challenge, vocalist Kate and bassist Kyle (who happen to be brother and sister) made it to the studio; and we were able to remotely connect with guitarist Shawn and drummer John to chat about their new album Mine Again!Mine Again is the band’s first full-length album following several EPs and singles within their discography. Recorded in a home studio and engineered and produced by Shawn, the masterpiece demonstrates a progressive level of maturity and evolution from this extremely talented group who has been together for seven years. Their style incorporates rock, shoegaze, pop, and Indie singer/songwriter elements that set them apart in a very distinct way.Our conversation touched upon their experiences in the studio while recording, the growing synergy within the group, and all the influences that play a part in their musical creation. Tune in today to learn more about Above The Moon and follow them on socials to see where you can catch their future shows in the area.
