Family Berean Brother Howie, Anonymous Associate Producer Michael Haner Podcast Introduction It’s Gospels Saturday, and we’ll read Acts 19-20. I’m calling this episode “Faith and Endurance.“ Design: Jason Paschall | Photo: Midjourney Summary In Acts 19, we see how Paul caused a stir in Ephesus by challenging the worship of the false god Artemis. The city had a thriving industry tied to this religion, with Demetrius, a silversmith, having a vested interest in maintaining it. During a chaotic assembly, many people didn’t even understand why they were there, a situation that still occurs in modern demonstrations. People get caught up in confusion and violence without a clear purpose, often driven by personal interests. This reminds us that human nature hasn’t changed over time. Circumstances change, but people’s fundamental needs remain constant. Just as they needed Jesus in Paul’s time, we still need Him today. In Acts 20, Paul’s determination to complete his mission despite facing persecution stands out. He was aware of the suffering awaiting him in every city, but he wanted to finish the race and fulfill his mission of sharing the Good News of God’s kindness. We should aspire to have such determination in our faith journey, aiming to hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant” when we stand before God. As our world faces growing persecution against believers, we need to decide how we will respond if we encounter such challenges. Scripture tells us that trials are part of God’s plan, and we should prepare mentally, emotionally, and spiritually for them. While we hope to never face persecution, it’s wise to be ready for whatever may come our way. Listen to the episode for more! Support This a value for value podcast.
