Ahaziah: Age 22 or 42? Error in the Bible?
In this episode, I discuss a common "problem" presented to Christians about an error or contradiction in the Bible. It's found by comparing the following two verses.(2 Kings 8:26, NKJV) Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah the granddaughter of Omri, king of Israel.(2 Chronicles 22:2, NKJV) Ahaziah was forty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah the granddaughter of Omri.Notice, I quoted from the New King James Version (NKJV) of the Bible instead of ESV. The ESV has "twenty-two" for both verses. My ResourcesBible verses quoted in this episode are from the ESV translation unless otherwise noted.
