In this episode we talk with Anne Gower – founder of the Atlanta based defense firm Gower Wooten Darneille. We talk to Anne about joining the “family business” of law and her journey in starting, and then building, her law firm to what it is now – a growing law firm with offices in 11 states. Anne is a defense attorney who works for insurance companies defending them and their insureds. Today, the majority of Anne’s practice involves non-standard carriers and assisting in the resolution of time demands pursuant to OCGA 9-11-67.1. Anne also helps carrier determines the value of a case and try it to their merits – sometimes being hired to keep the jury verdict down at trial. Anne explains how “Bad Faith Litigation” works.  Anne is a consummate professional. Liked and respected by everyone on both sides of the bar (Plaintiff and Defense), Anne shares her philosophy on how to treat cases and opposing counsel. Her approach is refreshing and leads to better results for her clients all across the board. I have head many cases with Anne and can confirm she practices what she preaches.  At home, Anne is married to Jason Darneille (check him out in episode 11 of Sports ‘N Torts) and they have two daughters. Their daughters are involved in volleyball and cheerleading so we discuss the craziness of “Cheer Moms” and the competitions. Anne and Jason also enjoy traveling (Running with Bulls in Pamplona by way of an example) and going to Braves games – specifically on Bobble Head Nights.  This is a great episode for anyone who wants to be inspired by Anne on how to start and run a business while managing a family and doing it all with class and grace.  As always, this episode is powered by the J. Stein Law Firm – a personal injury firm in Atlanta, GA – www.jsteinlawfirm.com.
