Antediluvian Revelations: A Poetic Retelling of the Book of Enoch, The Prophet. Episode Six
The sixth episode of this podcast series is the final component of Antediluvian Revelations. Part One. This episode is not poetry the same as the previous four episodes because it is a discussion and explanation of the poetry and related matters that will help readers and listeners to better understand the poem and its content. As the series progresses, episodes will follow a similar pattern with several episodes of poetry followed by a summary discussion episode. Listeners who prefer to listen to the poetry only may skip over these intellectually heavy episodes, but it is recommended that these discussions receive serious consideration. There will be information within these discussions that does not appear in the poetry, and this information will provide greater explanations of the meaning within the poetry. It is interesting to note here, while not being previously mentioned, that epic poetry was originally an oral tradition. Epic poetry was memorized, rehearsed, and spoken aloud to an audience or family members for the purpose of perpetuating knowledge about some events that were significant to those early humans who had not developed a lasting means of written communication. In fact, the epic story of Enoch was most likely memorized by Noah and passed down through several generations until being written. The Book of Enoch may have been a text stored within the Ark of the Covenant, but more information about this will appear in the discussion of Part Three. Please visit our author's association page at https://mikehaley77.wixsite.com/det25.
