Big Board 1.0 - Part II - Will Izan Almansa's international success translate in the G League?
My first full Big Board for 2023-24!
This is a wide open draft without a clearcut No. 1 pick, so expect a lot of changes between now and June.20. Elliot Cadeau - Small guards have had difficulty cracking the first round the last couple of seasons (see Sharife Cooper, Kennedy Chandler) as diminutive ball handlers are a dying breed in the NBA.Cadeau fits the small guard description and will have plenty of naysayers who question whether he can have a positive impact on the defensive end at his size.19. Thierry Darlan - Darlan is a product of the NBA Academy Africa in Senegal, and several scouts I've spoken with believe he could eventually carve out a role as a point forward. He's turnover prone at this stage in his development, but he has shown encouraging signs as a passer that could tempt a team to select him in the lottery.18. Yves Missi - Missi might be the biggest surprise on my Big Board, as he's under the radar despite being a five-star recruit and ranked as one of the top players in California.17. Jared McCain - McCain is one of the best shooters in this draft class, whether draining long-range bombs off the catch, shooting on the move or converting contested pull-ups off the dribble — he's a dangerous scorer as soon as he steps on the floor.16. Garwey Dual - Dual is a prospect I've come to appreciate more in recent weeks, and I fully expect him to be in lottery conversations at some point this season. Dual is an athletic guard with good positional size at 6'5" who can collapse the paint, break down a defense with dribble penetration, and create scoring opportunities for teammates.15. Izan Almansa - Almansa is one of the most decorated international prospects in recent memory, with an outstanding résumé that includes leading Spain to one silver and two gold medals over the last calendar year.14. Cody Williams - Williams, the younger brother of Oklahoma City Thunder swingman Jalen Williams, is one of the more divisive prospects in this class.13. Zvonimir Ivisic - I'm a little higher on Ivisic than most — I'm especially intrigued by his unique blend of size, coordination, and a skill set that fits the modern-day NBA.12. Ja’Kobe Walter - Walter is a talented wing scorer with one of the higher upsides in this draft class.11. Riley Kugel - After a strong second half of his freshman season, in which he averaged 17.3 points over his last 10 games, Kugel is ready to break out and establish himself as the centerpiece in Florida's offense and as one of the top 15 prospects in the country.
