Bonus Episode : 32 Talking new lures and colours with Taka Kawasaki and Daiwa Australia
In this episode I had a fantastic discussion with Taka Kawasaki from Daiwa Australia. Any of the regular listeners will recognise Taka as the winner of the non - boater division of the ABT Hawkesbury and Gladstone rounds. In Taka's role at Daiwa he takes care of hard-body lures and colours. So we thought with the recent releases at AFTA this would be a great time to run through all of the new Bream related lures and colours. We spoke at length about why some colours we added to different lures. Daiwa also uses some fascinating technology with their 'Adel' colour schemes. Taka explained how and why those colours were developed. The very popular 'DR Minnow ' has been re- released in jointed and non - jointed models. Although these lures are the same model, they have very specific uses. Taka explains the locations and techniques that these lures were designed for. After we cover all of the lures, Taka shares some information about the flourocarbon and braided lines that Daiwa has to offer. Taka has also initiated line recycling that all fishermen and women can participate in. We talk about exactly how it works and how everyone can get involved. We also have a promotion running where the winner will recieve a whole swag of new lures, but you will need to tune in to find out all about it! This promotion closes 31 August 2023 and the winner win be announced on Facebook September 1st and notified via Facebook messenger. The prize pack will not be available until all the lures are instock and available to retailers.
