Book of Leviticus Chapter 24 Laws Regarding the Tabernacle and Blasphemy
In this episode we continue studying the book of Leviticus. In this episode laws regarding the lamps and the bread for the tabernacle were once again reviewed. And laws regarding an eye for an eye, tooth for tooth and blemish for blemish were also revisited.

The son of an Israelitish woman and an Egyptian man was stoned because he blasphemed and cursed the name of the Lord during an argument with an Israelite man.

As a result a new law was established, whoever cursed or blasphemed the name of the Lord would be stoned.

Yet, we note that Jesus the Son of the Living God and Lord of the Sabbath, would tolerate being spoken evil of or being vilified.

He would tell his followers, blasphemy against his name would be forgiven. But whoever blasphemed the Holy Spirit, would never be forgiven in this world or the next.

Here’s the text:

Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Matthew 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

The people were also told that whoever killed someone would be put to death.

We note that the command not to kill was also given to Noah and his family after the flood. We were told that the man and the Woman were created in the image of the Living God. They were created to live and not die. So whoever took a life, his like would be taken

Here’s the text:

Genesis 9:5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

Genesis 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

And

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

People were made in the image of God. And the AHLB says, image means an outline or representation of an original as a shadow is the outline of the original.

We note that Jesus’ enemies hated him because He said, He was the Son of God.

Pilate asked the Pharisees, why should Jesus die, because he found no fault in him, and they said because He made himself the Son of God.

Here’s the text:

John 19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

John said, it was for this reason they killed Jesus.

John 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

Jesus would try to reason with them, saying if they did not believe his words at least they could believe the miracles He performed. The miracles proved He was the Son of God.

He made the blind see, lame to walk, deaf to hear and dumb to speak. He calmed stormy seas by speaking to the winds and the waves.

He was in the desert for forty days and forty night and not one wild beast attacked Him. No lion, bear, wolf, snake, or scorpion rose against Jesus the Son of God, the Son of Man.

As the Son of God He exercised dominion over the earth like the fir
