About Today’s Guests

Katie R. Ross, MSW, is the Director of Veterans Services at Summit BHC and creator of their specialized services for the military community, known as Tactical Recovery.  She worked in program management for the U.S. Navy for ten years before beginning in direct care as a clinical social worker at the Hampton VA Medical Center’s Suicide Prevention, Intimate Partner Violence, and Military Sexual Trauma units.  She was also pivotal in establishing the country’s first residential treatment center to exclusively serve military youth.  Katie is a multigenerational member of the military community, spouse of a recently retired 20-year veteran, former Ombudsman, Chair and creator of Nexus: Hampton Roads’ collaborative for Military & Veteran service providers, and Chair of the VISN 6 Clay Hunt Act Community Outreach Team.  As a national advocate and concierge of treatment resources for the military and veteran community, she is driven to improve the lives of those who have served. Katie Civiletto Stenger is the Operations Director and Force Multiplier for Summit BHC’s Tactical Recovery Program. She is a proud Army Spouse and lives in Southern Oregon with her husband, their son, 4 bonus kiddos, and two pups.  Katie has spent the past decade working in the veteran and military mental health space, focusing on mental health and substance abuse treatment, mental wellness, and emotional wellbeing. Katie forged her career in this space, she started working as a case manager and moved into program implementation and design. She now works with 20 Summit facilities to enhance Tactical Recovery’s Program integrity.
