Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
On Monday's Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey was joined by Fionnuala Murphy, Communications Manager of Childhood Cancer Ireland, Susan Ward, Marketing Officer of Ennis Lions Club and President of the Ennis Lions Club, Michael Sheedy. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This month will see people around the world coming together to raise awareness of childhood cancer and pay tribute to all those affected. September will see Childhood Cancer Ireland and Ennis Lions Club coming together to host "Light It Up Gold", to raise awareness of childhood, adolescent and young adult cancer. Fionnuala discussed the figures and statistics regarding childhood cancer and highlighted the background of "Light it up Gold" and what the event represents. Susan spoke about the partnership The Ennis Lions Club and Childhood Cancer Ireland and the importance that parents know that there is support outside of the medical support available to them. Michael outlined what you can expect to see at the event and the work The Ennis Lions Lions Club will be doing to raise awareness. The event will take place on the 16th of September.
