Christian Water-Baptism

The use of water in an outward ritual of baptism is representative of true baptism, a work of the Holy Spirit of God. Candidates are those who have been born again. Although there is no need to wait until they understand a raft of doctrines before it is carried out, it is a requirement that the candidates know who Jesus is and confess their entire trust in him as saviour. As for mode, sprinkling, pouring or immersion are among those which may be used. What baptism is not is a representation of death and resurrection. It is instead reflective of inner cleansing of sin.
