Congress Alleges ‘Secular, Socialist’ Omitted From Constitution’s Preamble, BJP Counters Claim
A day after session began in the new Parliament building, the Indian constitution is back in the centre of a storm. Congress has levelled serious allegations against Centre over the copies of the Indian constitution distributed to MPs. Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury claimed that the words "socialist" and "secular" were omitted from the Constitution. The new copies of the Constitution were handed over to the MPs on the opening day of the new Parliament building. Hitting back at Congress, BJP said that ‘secular and socialist’ were added to Preamble after amendment in 1976. Union Law Minister Arjun Meghwal said that the original copies of the constitutions as per 1948 were presented to the MPs#congress #adhirranjanchowdhury #secular #constitution #timesnow #timesnoworiginals #bjp #preamble #indianconstitution #parliament #parliamentspecialsession #newparliamentbuilding
