Conversation Hearts: An Inclusive Love Fest for Romance Readers and Writers, Part 1
Centering #ownvoices POC and LGBTQIA+ romance, this event will explore the joys and the future of the romance genre. The afternoon will kick-off in the Microsoft Auditorium with a Fireside Chat with guest author Rebekah Weatherspoon in conversation with local author Jasmine Silvera. Panel discussions and interactive activities will commence on Level 4 following the Fireside Chat with topics ranging from The Future of Romance, What Should I Read Next, Love It, Nerdy Lit Crit and Conversation Break Outs. A little about Rebekah Weatherspoon: After years of meddling in her friends’ love lives, Rebekah Weatherspoon turned to writing romance to get her fix. She’s worked in various positions from library assistant, meter maid, middle school teacher, B movie production assistant, reality show crew chauffeur, D movie producer, and her most fulfilling job to date, lube and harness specialist at an erotic boutique in West Hollywood. Her BDSM romance "At Her Feet" won the Golden Crown Literary Award for erotic lesbian fiction.
