Dougie and Emmet's Secret Podcast: Doping Scandal, Future Stars, St. Leger Preview, and Irish Champions Festival Review
Jockey Dougie Costello joins Emmet to review the Irish Champions Festival with a view to the future and to look ahead to the St Leger at Doncaster. The lads start off by reacting to the Luke Comer doping ban that has rocked Irish Racing. Then they chat about Auguste Rodin's second Lazarus-like performance of the season, and Aidan O'Brien saddled the one-two in the Irish Champion Stakes. Can he win at the Breeders Cup? Where next for Luxembourg? And after the Amo Racing fallout, they debate, is King Of Steel really that good? The focus switches to future stars Diego Velazquez, Fallen Angel, and Henry Longfellow. Dougie has worked with one of these horses as a yearling and has serious doubts about one of these horses going forward. Then they switch to Dougie's upcoming rides on Saturday and the final Classic of the season, the St Leger, where the lads are in agreement on a bet. There's plenty of conversation, craic, and insight on a podcast so good that they had to record it twice!
