Ep 8: Why is it so hard to talk about kinky sex? (it’s not your fault!)
Sex is a fundamental human need, yet in modern society, it is a topic deemed “inappropriate” in most settings, especially if the sex you desire is anything outside the vanilla. This lack of conversation around sex, leads to poor information, poor communication with sexual partners, and ultimately… an unfulfilling sex life.
In this episode I explore how sex and kink is consistently shamed in our society. I give examples of how even indirect messaging has led to unconscious judgments in my own mind. I also talk about ways to let go of these judgements and start feeling more confident about having kinky conversations.
Mentioned in this episodeGuardian article: The Guardian, 2014, Sex in real life isn't like sex on screen – and that's a good thing, viewed 7th June 2023, https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/mar/18/sex-real-life-not-like-sex-on-screen-tv-movies
Get in touch!Website: harleyrabbit.com/podcast Fetlife: HarleyRabbit
