Welcome back to The Marian Flaxman Network Podcast. Today Marian speaks with Sid Sharma, one of the three founders of Wild Bay Kombucha. Sid has an amazing story, which took him from studying environmental science and working as an energy analyst, to brewing kombucha in the back room of a juice bar with his friends, and gradually scaling that business to the successful regional company it is today, nine years along their journey. The company is currently going through another growth cycle, adding new products to both their production, and distribution channels.Sid and Marian talk about kombucha, what it is, how it is produced, and why it can be beneficial to health. They also discuss issues with the food system overall, such as how processed foods are subsidized, and how much of the grocery store is dedicated to nutrient poor, processed foods, rather than fresh, nutrient-dense foods. They talk about the need for both top-down solutions such as policy changes, as well as bottom-up shifts in consumer demand and spending habits. Finally, they spend time discussing the challenges and joys of running and growing a business, and highlight the opportunity for businesses to operate ethically, and promote the wellbeing of society. For more information on Marian, please visit www.marianflaxman.comFollow Marian on Instagram- @marianffConnect with Marian on LinkedIn- https://www.linkedin.com/in/marian-flaxman/For more information on Wild Bay Kombucha, please visit https://wildbaykombucha.comTo learn more about how to invest in Wild Bay Kombucha and support their growth, please click hereFor more information about our sponsor, please visit www.informedsolutionsconsulting.com
