Lt. Col. Christine Kelley, call sign “Grinder”, was the first woman to fly the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter in 2015. Prior to the F-35, she flew the F-15E Strike Eagle in combat, accruing more than 2,800 flight hours and 500 combat hours during her 20 years of service in the United States Air Force.
