Episode 23 - Entrepreneur vs "JOB" and Other Dirty Words with Joan Sotkin
“My purpose is whatever I'm doing today because as long as I'm learning to love myself and love others and to me it's more of an inner journey than a journey because who you are determines what your outcomes are going to be.”Joan Sotkin is a Money and Mindset Mentor who presents a holistic approach to business building. Joan is THE expert when it comes to understanding how emotional habits developed in early childhood affect a person's business and financial outcomes. Thousands have benefited from her groundbreaking book Build Your Money Muscles: Nine Simple Exercises for Improving Your Relationship with Money, her podcast, The Prosperity Show, her online courses and the unique guidance she offers her clients. In this episode, Joan shares:“And so who do you want to be? And if the world isn't telling you what you want to hear, sit down and listen and see what comes from inside of you as to who because you're not going to be at age 50, who you are at age 40. And each decade is different. And as I said to you in the green room that it takes till you're 50 just to find out what you're not.“Pay attention to that place inside, that's uncomfortable because it's telling you what to do next and there's so much advice now that's part of the problem because it's hard to know who to listen to.“Money is like people. It goes to people who take care of it. And the thing that money loves best is to be counted.“It's about you and your relationship with yourself. So what matters more than anything else is taking care of yourself so that you're treating yourself like a person you love.“Your habits are nothing more than these neural pathways in your brain. When you do something new and you want to make that a habit, you have to build up this new neural pathway in your brain. So when you go to change a habit, whether it's internal or external, it gets uncomfortable because you're going to be disorientated. And you have to understand that it takes about three months to get through the moving stupids.”“If you're yearning for money, if you are longing for money, then longing is your habit and you'll never be satisfied."“I measure my life not by my money, but how much peace of mind I have and how much love I have to offer and how much love is coming to me from other people and I had to learn how to feel loved and how to to understand this thing called love living on my own.”<br/>Rate, Review & Follow on Apple Podcasts “I love Melanie and The CEOs Way Podcast.”
