In 1971 a man purchased a one way ticket with cash for a Northwest-Orient flight from Portland to Sea-Tac, shortly after take off he informed a flight attendant that he had a bomb and showed her a bomb like device in his briefcase. He demanded $200,000 in cash and 4 parachutes and was paid his ransom before jumping off the plane into a dark rainy night, never to be identified or seen again. Only a small amount of the cash was ever recovered when it was found buried in a riverbank near one of the proposed drop zones. Listen along as we discuss the 50 year old crime that is America's only unsolved case of Airline Piracy. Music by Gioele Fazzeri from Pixabay
