Episode #37: Ahmed Yehia, Muhammad Bassyouny - Bedouin Immersion at Nour Holistic Education, St. Catherine, Egypt
Ahmed Yehia graduated with a BA in Political Science from The American University in Cairo. His travels post graduation introduced him to different worlds and opened his eyes to alternative ways of education. In engaging the field of non-formal education, he has worn many hats. This has given him a range of perspectives on how empowering and playful learning can be.This quest led him to Meshkah Martial Arts School in Egypt. After spending one year attending classes casually, he joined the 3-year full-time program where he learned different traditional Chinese martial arts and Chinese medicine. Being a student in a traditional martial arts school has deepened and expanded his personal understanding about learning. Currently, Ahmed is teaching martial arts and he enjoys weaving together his experience - as an educator and as a martial arts practitioner- to help support the growth of Nour. In addition, Ahmed is the co-founder of rawa- a small business that makes fresh plant-based mylks.Nour Holistic Education: https://nourprograms.org/Thoreau College: https://www.thoreaucollege.orgDeep Springs College: https://www.deepsprings.eduDriftless Folk School: https://www.driftlessfolkschool.org
