Episode 52 - Understanding the Self

As people we are the sum of our experiences and our emotions. It behooves us to learn ourselves well before we bring others into the picture, but even more so as we begin to look forward to marriage and children. Our children and our spouses will be individuals, unique in their own ways. How do we manage that when we don't quite understand them or love the things they love? Some of the best rules I have followed are not to compare them to each other or to anyone else and also to love the kid or spouse you have been given, not the one you wanted. It can bring peace to the journey and joy to our hearts if we learn to love all of those around us with this lens! Here's to always learning and figuring out things in a better way! It is a process!
