Episode 89 - Richard Jewell

During the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta a bomb exploded resulting in the death of two people. Richard Jewell was the security guard who found the bomb and after initially being hailed as a hero, a Law Enforcement leak to the media that he was a person of interest in the bombing turned him from hero to suspected villian. For 88 days he was under immense media scrutiny until the Federal Government cleared him of any wrongdoing. The bomber struck three more times, using 4 more bombs, before he was identified and evaded Law Enforcement for 5 years before his capture.
