Episode 9 feat. Mark Kollar
Should an officer watch the body cam footage after a use of deadly force event prior to making their statement? We discuss this topic and more in this week's episode. Join Mark and David as they sit down with Mark Kollar. Mark currently serves as a special agent supervisor for a state-level criminal investigative agency. In that capacity, he commands the Major Crimes Division and Special Investigations Unit for one-quarter of the state. The special agents he supervises conduct high-profile criminal investigations, including: officer-involved shootings, homicides, serial crimes, public official corruption, sexual assaults, and large-scale financial crimes. In his over 29 year law enforcement career, he has served in multiple capacities to include: patrol, narcotics, crime scene, detective bureau, and in various supervisory roles. In this episode, we explore a wide variety of topics that face investigators of officer-involved shootings. We look at this hot button issue facing the country from the perspective of those investigating these cases. Hear just a little bit of how Mark approaches teaching what he's learned in his many years on the job. We hope this encourages you to sign up for this training in the future.
