Equality NC’s Kendra Johnson discusses a rise in bills to deny the rights of LGBTQ people
It’s Pride Month – the time of year in which people across the globe celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and its history, culture, and rights. And while much encouraging progress continues to be made in this realm, this year’s celebration<br /> comes at a difficult and troubling time for those who support human rights. Kendra Johnson, the executive director of Equality North Carolina, discusses the rise in bad bills this legislative session that seek to deny the humanity of LGBTQ+ people, promote hatred and exclusion, and limit everyone’s freedom. Johnson also discusses how to be a better ally, and the importance of protecting and expanding voting rights. Learn more about Equality NC and the fight for lived equality.
