Evolutions That Shape Experiences with Desiree Aspiras
Today's guest is Desiree Aspiras. Desiree is an educator, therapist and facilitator focused on integrating creativity, mindfulness, and embodied practices into her arenas of mental health, higher education, and social justice. Desiree believes that inspiring individuals to find hope, meaning, and courage is essential to creating change. We’ve known each other for 11 years and today we’ll chat about evolutions we’ve seen each other through that have shaped the experiences that made us who we are today. Desiree has found that her experience with fundraising in the performing arts space has woven into social work and the Print Makers Against Racism project. All of it connects to being of service in a way that feels very authentic to how she wants to move through the world. As a mental health professional and teacher of other mental health professionals, we’re on the front lines helping everyone we can, but helping ourselves is often on the back burner.Desiree is excited to be teaching Human Diversity in Family Therapy at the University of San Diego and she’s launching a new mindfulness community called Deep Breath Network along with a course called Transforming Discomfort.Connect with Desiree on her website, deepbreathnetwork.org or on IG https://www.instagram.com/deep_breath_network/If you want to tune into the conversation, be sure to hit Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
