Exchanging Perfectionism, People-Pleasing and Fear with Restorative Mental Health and Hope with Rana McIntyre
On today's episode Kristin talks to Rana McIntyre, author, speaker and certified mental health coach, about her journey of trauma, self-blame, and silence to asking for help and trusting God to guide her to restore her mental health.Rana talks about her patterns of people-pleasing, perfectionism and feeling blame in her life as her and her family walked through hard seasons, including her daughter being harmed and shaken by her sitter and why she didn't seek help sooner. And Rana shares how trusting God and finding a counselor to work with her helped her restore her mental health and trauma through years of therapy.Rana says this in her book, "I could stay in a place that kept you shacked or I could trust God would go with me and lead me to safety."We also talk about how we can break free from the struggles and beliefs we may have so we can really live a life of freedom and why it's so important to set boundaries and be able to recognize lies we have internalized like, 'A woman's role is to take care of others and make them happy.'Connect with Rana at RanaMcIntyre.com or on Instagram @ranamcintyre_authorYou want to feel less frazzled, more joyful and at peace in your daily life? Are you ready to put more focus into what God has promised us and how to talk to God and hear from him? Are you ready to be encouraged as a Christian mom, wife and friend? I know how easy it is to let life get busy and not put God first but I am here working on doing just that right along side you.I have been there and I continously have to keep checking back in to make God and following Jesus my focus. It's not always easy but I keep working on following God's plan instead of pushing my own. And I want to help you do the same. How can we choose to do life a little bit different? To accept the invitation we've been given to step into the Adventure of pursuing God and what he has for us.Learn about Kristin Fitch and her podcast Faith Fueled Woman and to sign up for her email and 7 Day Faith-based Encouragement Challenge (7 days of Encouragement sent to your inbox)- click here.Reach out to Kristin to have her speak at Your Event, Summit, Church or Group - Go to KristinFitch.com/contact#christianwomen #mentalhealth #perfectionism #childabuse #specialneedschild #trustgod #mentalhealthjourney #godcanfreeyou #prayer #peoplepleasing #faithoverfear #christianinspiration
