F*ck Yeah to Somatic Practices with Dr. Vanessa Carlisle
Dr. Vanessa Carlisle, co-host and producer of Body Politics: Sex, Love and Liberation on KPFK 90.7FM, is a multidisciplinary somatic practitioner, writer and advocate. Vanessa shares their journey with somatic self-support practices and gives listeners an exercise for connecting with and staying in your body. Vanessa brings a grounded gentleness to their diverse practices. Rather than joy seeking and searching for the next peak experience, Vanessa’s approach integrates simple pleasures for a more embodied experience and open presence, even in the darkest moments of fear and grief. Vanessa's work combats stigma and improves conditions for queer and sex working communities, including trauma-supportive self-defense classes, sex worker advocacy, and culturally attuned death care. In our conversation, we discover the interesting links between all of the powerful healing and justice work Vanessa engages in.Learn more about Vanessa and their work at www.vanessacarlisle.comTwitter @VCarlisleIG @vanessacarlisleFind us on IG & TT @fuckyeahpod
