Fear cuts deeper than swords

Homily for the 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time: "Fear may cut deeper than swords but God’s loving mercy gives us the courage to face life’s uncertainties and our own insecurities. When fear starts to creep in our lives, may we, like Pedro Arrupe and Peter in today’s Gospel, find ourselves being gripped by God’s hands and reminding us: 'Courage! It is I! Do not be afraid!'"
