A former labor leader who used union dues to fund a lucrative lifestyle for himself and family members was sentenced Thursday to nearly 12 years in prison. Brian Ahakuelo, 62, will also be forced to pay a $209,000 restitution. Wearing a white prison jumpsuit and shackles, Ahakuelo waved to his loved ones and gave them the thumbs up before he was sentenced. Some loved ones teared up in court as Senior U.S. District Judge Helen Gillmor handed down the sentence on Thursday morning.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
