She was first introduced to foster care as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and family nurse practitioner before becoming a foster parent with her husband, Brooks. She is the face behind Foster The Valley, an online community designed to educate on topics such as child development, foster care, and the importance of faith.
