The facility is funded by a lawsuit against carpet manufacturers and chemical companies, totaling around $159 million. The design phase is about 40% complete, aiming to meet the 2026 deadline. The US EPA proposed new legal limits for PFAS, expected to be finalized soon. The settlements will allow a rollback in water rates for Rome's customers. Additionally, Rome is ahead of the deadline for the EPA's Lead and Copper Rule, identifying and inspecting lead service lines through a meter change-out program.   STORY 3: golf   The Rome Historic Golf Preservation Foundation aims to preserve and promote the sixth oldest golf course in Georgia, located near downtown Broad Street. The course, designed by George Cobb, is part of the historic Coosa Country Club but is a stand-alone organization. The foundation's mission is to preserve the course and promote golf locally through education and scholarship opportunities. They are working with organizations like First Tee and local schools to make golf accessible to kids. One of their immediate goals is to renovate the cart paths, with plans to fund scholarships and collaborate with golf academies in the future. The course is expected to reopen in November after renovations.   We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows.
