Giants sleeper TE Lawrence Cager 1-on-1 on emulating Darren Waller and 'destiny' bringing him to New York
Ep. 43 of Talkin' Ball with Pat Leonard, the New York Daily News' NFL columnist and Giants beat writer. Giants tight end Lawrence Cager sits down with Pat 1-on-1 at Giants minicamp to discuss his history of being compared to Darren Waller, his relationship with Waller prior to the Giants trade, the transition from wide receiver to tight end, his constant effort to soak up all that Waller knows now that they're teammates, and the fact that being a Giant almost feels like 'destiny.' Cager, who had a breakout game against the Philadelphia Eagles late last season, is Pat's candidate for one of the top Giants sleepers for the 2023 season as a key contributor. Cager explains why he flew under the radar coming into the NFL despite his talent. He thanks the people who have helped position him to succeed, and he shares why he's confident he will continue to improve and contribute.
