Tanya Bothma is a little over 5 years post a double lung transplant – the first of its kind to be performed in a state hospital anywhere in Africa. Tina Beckbessinger is 12 years post-surgery for a heart and bilateral lung transplant - one of the first to have the op, and one of the longest surviving patients.
