Houli Fox’s Pizza, Guinness, Big Corner Tavern, Madden Funds and Flood Brothers Disposal present the Hibernian Radio Hour as we return to our First Responders Tour at Big Corner Tavern and this week’s show is a little different as we take a break from our First Responders Tour. Houli begins by addressing the recent death of his good friend and local Chicago CPD legend, Billy Clancy. He remembers his pal fondly and shares some personal memories of Billy and his family with listeners. “He was a real cop’s cop.” Billy’s wake and funeral details can be found here. Houli goes on to chat about some of the stories he writes for ‘The Irish Echo’ called “Chicago Calling”. His latest article talks about Irish musician and singer, Eimear Arkins who will be on Houli’s annual trip to Ireland later this year. He then delves into current affairs with particular focus on the horrific statistics surrounding Brandon Johnson’s first month in office with a serious rise in the number of shootings and murders in our city .We take a well-needed musical break with “Brand New Day” by Van Morrison followed by another from Van called, “Astral Weeks”. Houli goes on to share the details surrounding his upcoming trip to Ireland from October 23rd – 30th. Call Specialised Travel at 1-800-664-7474 for tickets and more info! Then we head over to the recent obituaries followed by some more music from Van Morrison with “Brown Eyed Girl”.
