Is the NFL overstepping its bounds over possession of the fleur-de-lis?

The NFL recently sent a cease and desist letter to a local vendor, Defend New Orleans for using a fleur-de-lis ⚜️ as part of its logo, which appears on many of its products…and has for twenty years. The letter said, “Defend New Orleans ("DNO") is engaging in the unauthorized manufacture, promotion, distribution, sale, and/or offering for sale, of infringing and counterfeit products bearing NFL Marks and/or marks confusingly similar thereto.” Scott Sternberg, Defend New Orleans Attorney, joins Newell to discuss the situation.
