LOCAL LEADERS IN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY COMPRIMISED? CHAOS AROUND THE GLOBE AND WHAT YOU NEED TO BE READY FOR. TUNE IN NOW!
Local leader in the Marion County Republican party is not serving the peoples interest and only focused on his agenda. With many attempts to sabotage people around him Joel P. is flopping and we need to hold him accountable. After the Sol Recall we now have a clear picture that he is not interested in the Marion county people.Heres a couple points made by members of the Marion County Rep. Party.
A functioning political party communicates with the members
When we attend Marion County Republican Party (MCRP) meetings at the VFW, we enter our
names, phones, and emails on a list at the door. Every time.
Now think back. In the six months, since this leadership was elected, there have been
multiple crises. We had a critical school board election, the Democrats in the legislature
pushed a radical agenda with hundreds of bills, there are last-minute calls for demonstrations,
the Republicans in the Senate are on a walk-out—and what do we hear from the MCRP
leadership? Crickets quietly and peacefully chirping. The MCRP never uses those contact
handles for anything.
Many people suspect the elections are rigged, or at least sloppily managed so that rigging and
fraud is easy. What has the MCRP done or organized? Nothing.
Hundreds of people come to the MCRP meetings because we seek to do something, and we
are willing to take the time and do the work. We quietly organize among ourselves, set up
demonstrations, distribute fliers, and so on. But this leadership is never visible in the effort.
On May 15, some Christian ministers organized a lightening strike demonstration on the south
steps of the Capitol over HB 2002. The MCRP Chairman was there personally, but despite 2
or 3 days notice, he did not use the long list of MCRP contacts to make the demonstration a
roaring success. We heard nothing from the Chairman’s office.
Former state rep. Jeff Kropf regularly organizes a legislative action group at the Ike Box every
Thursday, but this party has done nothing to assist that effort or publish his legislative alerts.
Linda Farrington, Chair of the group “Salem Keizer We Stand Together,” campaigned and
organized sign demos, door knocking, fliers, … on her own money and personal donations.
And what did we hear from the MCRP leadership? The silence of petals falling from a rose.
A number of concerned citizens, led by Anna Munson, have organized the Oregon People’s
Vote to monitor and improve the integrity of Oregon’s elections. Has the MCRP contributed
publicity and organizational power to that effort—beyond loaning them a meeting space for a
few months?
Marc Theilman is addressing Oregon’s election problems from the legal angle, but the MCRP
has done little to flow power to his effort.
The power of America is in the American people. But the MCRP does not use an email list, a
phone tree, a mailing list, a newsletter, or anything else to inform, mobilize, and organize the
large and willing membership. Rather, the general membership is sent to the back of the hall
while the leadership works with the PCPs to nit-pick the by-laws of internal operations.
Frankly, silence from the MCRP leadership is nothing new. We had the same deafening
silence from the last bunch who were in power.
At this time, does the MCRP have even a physical office? Surely, there have been a
thousand problems—life is like that. But the purpose of leadership is to solve problems, not
invent excuses.
Since the Marion County Republican Party hardly exists outside the VFW hall, we should not
be surprised that Republicans have done so badly in Oregon elections for the last 30 years.
