Lunch Boxes and Book Satchels were fashionable

Making preparations for the new school year meant many things.  It meant many different things to many people, and some may have regretted it, and some may have looked forward to it.  Whatever the case be, I always looked forward to the trip to Macon GA to buy a new Lunch Box and a new Book Satchel.   Lunch boxes and book satchels were fashionable, and even back then the drive and demands of a materialist market driven consumer was powerful.<br/>That said, it was what Mama put in my lunch box that gives me very found memories till this day.  The energy and effort that Mama put into making me lunches just goes to prove how much she loved me.  Don't get me wrong here,.....Eleanor Daniels was the Queen of dishes out "Tough Love."  But she also was gifted to show acts of kindness and that special degree of "Mama's Love."  <br/>I miss Mama a great deal.  I miss her smiling eyes, and her wit.  I miss her laugh.  And if your Mama is still alive,...... make the time and days to just go sit and talk.  We have the technology today, and be sure to record your conversations with her.  You won't regret it.
