Draw in a deep, long breathand allow your eyes to close.Breathe deeply again,becoming aware of your surroundings,aware of the present.LONG PAUSEBreathe in again,and as you do,let your body release its tensionand let the soft folds of the bedblend with you.LONG PAUSEAs you breathe in again,imagine a house on the edge of the woods,a house bathed in winter snow,with smoke dancing out of a chimney.PAUSENow, imagine yourself standing in front of the house at nighttime,dressed in a warm clothesthat hug you and keep you comfortable.PAUSEAnd as you stand outside,in the beautiful winter air,you notice the full moon above,a brilliant, shining orb that washes its silvery light over the house, the snow, the woods, and you.PAUSEAnd in the distance, you hear a noise,softly at first, but then it grows stronger,Whooo, Whooo.Whooo, Whooo.An owl calls to you from the woods.PAUSENow, imagine yourself taking a step in the snow.It crunches beneath your foot,but gently gives way to you.So, you take another stepand another.PAUSEAnd with each step you take,you draw closer and closer to the beautiful woods near the house.PAUSEAnd, as you reach the woods,you pause and hear the owl calling again.Whooo. Whooo.Whooo. Whooo.PAUSEFor a moment, you look at the woods,deep into her heart,a heart teeming with life and mystery.PAUSESlowly, you step into the woods,the crisp snow crackling softlybeneath your feet again,the moon lighting a pathfor you to follow.PAUSEWhooo. Whooo.Whooo. Whooo.The owl’s call is clear,a call that guides youinto her woods.PAUSEWith each step you take,deeper and deeper into the woods,a feeling of calm anda sense of knowingbecome stronger and stronger.PAUSEStanding in the woods,you take a moment to bask in the present.In doing so, you spy a deer and her fawn.PAUSEThe doe stops andlooks up at you,still, and all-knowing,You feel her understanding,After a moment,she and her fawn go on their way.PAUSEThe owl’s call glides through the air again,and this time, you answer,Whooo. Whooo.Whooo. Whooo.PAUSEGiant wings flap above you,and you crane your neckto see.PAUSEThe moonlight unveils amagnificent owl sitting on a tree branchjust above you.PAUSESilently, you and the owllook at one another, connecting, understandingin wonder.PAUSEAfter a moment, the owl draws closer,and you look into hergolden eyes.PAUSE
