Misogyny Online and Debate
“We are volcanoes. When we women offer our experience as truth, as human truth, all the maps change. There are new mountains.” — Ursula K. LeGuin The increase in technology and social media, has led to the rise of misogyny online - a dangerous, vile problem that has infiltrated almost every corner of the internet. Hannah and Keerthi host this program about equality for women. Hannah discusses a major problem that has infiltrated almost every corner of the internet…misogyny. She discusses the link between discrimination, violent extremism, and social inequity that arises as a result of misogyny, threats, and targeted violence online towards women from men. This program takes an in depth look at the hatred and resentment of women from many supremist-thinking males from all parts of the world who believe in rape culture and violence towards women. Keerthi lightens up the conversation as usual with humor and then segues into females in debate. Although subtle, female debaters are judged because of their gender. Debate, and speech in general, is male-dominated with male domination in politics. Restrictions on hate speech and violent content must be regulated. Speak up. Support women and women’s rights, and fight against misogyny. We are all human beings and deserve to be treated equally. • Follow us: https://www.starstyleradio.com..../expressyourselfteen • https://www.facebook.com/ExpressYourselfTeenRadio/ • https://www.facebook.com/BTSYAcharity/ • Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/expressyourselfradio/ • NFTs: https://www.StarStyleCommunity.com
