This week Julie and Douglas are joined by friends Iñigo and Ramón to discuss the deadly encounter that took place in May of 1976 during the Carlist movement’s annual pilgrimage to the mountain Montejurra in Navarre, near the city of Estella. The pilgrimage turned into a violent clash between different factions within the Carlist movement and left-wing activists, leaving 2 dead and many wounded.This episode has a more conversational tone than our typical episodes and a more chaotic vibe that fits with the story being told.Content warning: gun violence and mayhem.
